Basic as it gets. Doesn't have to be dance, can be kill the rabbit if you wish, just something that you find cool.

This must be old, but I've been finding tons of old stuff now that I realized I could get setup a US itunes account and use their radio function, can take you to some cool stuff if you keep on up setting up on setting up based on. Digital crate jumping.

Video capture of a realtime prod (i.e. all graphics rendered in real-time using the GPU):

Very cool but not really sure what the deal about real time is. You mean it's a capture performance of a VJ?

No, real-time means that the graphics are not pre-rendered, they are done in real-time... think along the lines of using video game development technique as an art form.

It is not uncommon in these to also have the music be generated real-time using a soft-synth developed by the team behind the production.

These techniques are used to get the size of the production down as small as possible - it's amazing what can be done in 4KiB. Here's one of my favorite examples:

This is a video capture, but the actual download is only 4 kilobytes... approximately 1/6th the filesize of the DJTT banner at the top of this page. heh

So it's basically like an itunes visualizer with 3d objects instead of just particles.

Hrm... too much of a generalization. 3D objects aren't a requirement, and they aren't visualizers because they do not just play any song - the song is designed for the production. There are some visualization-like elements to it, but the motion is a lot more tuned to the song (in good prods) than visualization usually is since it is only intended to play with the one song.

I usually just call it art (or a demo, which is the common name used in the scene for it).
