Default Midi Map LEDs - How Do You Create...

i'm pretty good at mapping, however this one's really driving me nuts. can't seem to figure it out.

i'm attempting to map (8) buttons to jump to separate Sample Pages for the Remix Decks. So far, so good...got that done.

here's where it gets confusing for me. i need to:

    1. have the LED remain on when that particular page is selected and off when it's not
    2. also, i'd like for my buttons on the controller that have been assigned to Slot Cells to display a color when loaded, and a different one when playing, or none when no sample is present

i'm going to upload an image of my controller, APC40MKII. i know...i know...it's for Ableton. however, it looks like it would work great for effects and remix decks. these two issues are the last piece to the puzzle.

in other words, if i press button #5 which has been mapped to Remix Deck D Page 1, i'd like for that LED to remain on while on that page and turn off when i select Page 2 which is button #6...so on and so forth. currently i have multiple lights on within the same sample deck even when i'm not on that page although my modifying condition clearly states only one sample page per button.

*although it appears in my image to already be done that way, it truly is not functional. i simply added this to show you the (8) buttons and how i want them to look once activated.

thanks for taking time to get this far! appreciate any help.

Hey Keizer. You're gonna wanna change the Controller Range settings under LED options. For your page 1 LED command, set the controller range to 0/0. Page 2 will be 1/1, page 3 at 2/2, and finally page 4 at 3/3. Be sure to also un-check the blend option for each.

This should get you where you wanna be, but just to clarify, you'll have one button lit (1-4) for one deck and a second lit (5-8) for another deck. Is this what you imagined, or do you only wanna light one at a time for some particular reason?

yes, sir! within that same scene, there should always be two buttons lit...one for Remix Deck C, and the other for Remix Deck D. i'm going to apply your directions now.

also...i'm going to edit my post and add a lil bit of info that i've been stumped on for the Cell States.

i'd like for those buttons to display one color for loaded state, another for playing, and none at all for empty. sounds to me like i'll need three commands per cell, no?

thank you again for taking time out to reply

Yeah, 3 for each should do it. Unless you already know the numbers you'll need, create one output command and experiment with the MIDI Range in the LED options. 0-XX should give you one color, XX-XX another color, and XX-127 another. Determine those 'XX' values and move on to creating 2 more output commands. Set the Midi range for one at 0-0. This will be your empty state. Use the other two ranges for your loaded and playing states, however you prefer. I'm pretty sure you want the blend option checked for all three commands, but I could be wrong about that.

At this point, for each of the three commands, use the Modifier drop-down to add the following conditions:

Remix Cell State --> *Choose the appropriate cell and target deck* -->

    1. Value = Empty
    2. Value = Loaded
    3. Value = Playing

Let me know if you run into any problems!
