Default Traktor s2 with pro issues

I received my traktor s2 MK 2 as a gift for christmas, but ive had some issues. Most songs of mine will sound "choppy" and jumpy, especially during lyrics and build ups. Ive been to the NI forums but so far no ones been able to help. I spent the last 2 days trying to figure this out and installing all of my laptop drivers and the ones required for the s2 and pro 2 and nothing. Ive been all through those damn audio set up options and i still cant figure it out.

im running a 2.3 ghz dual core with 3 gb ram (toshiba satellite c655 s5060). The settings inside of traktors audio set up it is as follows.
    Audio Device:Traktor S2 mk 2
Sample Rate: 48000hz ( i played around with all of the latency settings for the sample rates of 48000 and 44100)
Process Buffer: 64 samples (played with just about all of them)
USB buffer: 4ms (only tried 4 and 3)
    Overall: 8.7 ms
Built In soundcard: Traktor s2 mk2
    Multicore disabled

These settings seem to make the sloppy sound less noticable, but they are still very noticable. Any help is appreciated.

The OEM image on the Toshibas is awful for real time audio performance.

Either format and rebuild without all the Toshiba bloatware, or uninstall it manually. If its using Mcaffee or Nortons, get rid of it immediately and just use Microsoft security essentials or the built in AV in Win 8.1.

Your laptop is below the minimum recommended specs for running Traktor Pro 2:

This blog article is a bit out of date now but might help:

set higher buffer size: try 256 samples.

Yes...looks like you are pushing the limit on that machine.
As stated, move down to 44.1 hz. No reason to be at 48.
Maybe add some more ram if possible...it's cheap these days.
Reduce the number of effects or just don't use them.
Move that latency up as suggested. Even to 512.
