    I was really hoping one of these items from akai would be good and I'm really wanting to love my mpx8 but I think it'll meet the return pile soon enough... It handles samples really poorly in my mind

    Great shame that Akai are heading in that direction. :-(

    But - loads of kids are gonna love it, as a toy...

    Yeah I was disappointed in their choice to do that I was going to return the mpx and grab a mpc studio but am nervous about its quality also

    Likely will go with a Korg electribe though instead of any of the akai products

    Actually, the Beatstep Pro coming out in April looks pretty sick for the price. Might want to check that out before your final decision.
