Default how to to map maschine poly pressure to traktor remix deck slot volume adjust??

    Is this even possible?

I use a maschine mk1 on traktor 2.7.2 remix decks as sample banks to assign to DVS for scratching with a custom mapping

I want to set the poly pressure value to remix deck slot volume adjust, while still triggering the cell with the same 'hit'

The idea is to be able to scratch samples and fine tune the volume of the scratch by using the poly pressure instead of tweaking the gain knob, because with my style of finger drumming / scratching I feel like it would be faster / more intuitive

any advice? messed around with it for a while and did some searching, I have the slots triggering correctly but I still cant set the slot volume with the poly pressure value

I don't have the Maschine to check pad settings in the editor but you should be able to adjust the slot volume by mapping it to CC which is sent out from the pads aftertouch control. I had this mapping somewhere for my BASE controller - if I manage to find it I'd be glad so share concept

ah ok, thanks for the tip. im not that pro.

so, im making two commands for each pad,

one to Slot (x) Cell (x) Trigger

one to Slot Volume Adjust, controller type encoder, interaction mode relative, 7fh/01h, and invert ticked

seems to be working ok, gonna go ahead and play around with it for a bit

so it seems to be working best with

Slot Volume Adjust, controller type encoder, interaction mode relative, 7fh/01h, and invert ticked

    in traktor,

    and

    pad velocity curve soft 1,

under the Hit tab Type: Note, Mode: Gate,

under the Press tab Type: Off

    in the controller editor

the only thing is, some of the pads seem to be working pretty well, while others dont seem to work at all... meaning the ones that work you can trigger the cell with a soft touch at a low slot volume, and trigger the cell with a harder tap at high to full slot volume

in other cells with the same settings, the slot volume does not correspond well with how hard I tap the button.. mostly that a hard tap does not consistently trigger the cell at full volume which of course is the most important thing to be able to do..

could this be a hardware issue? how can I test the velocity values ?? maybe i need to take it apart and clean the buttons?

    thanks!!

If you haven't figured it out, the Maschine pads are capable of sending two different midi events. Note and CC.

#1: touch pad = Note ON ; release pad = Note OFF
#2: after touch CC (control change)

Trigger Cell should be mapped to Note massage. (mapping this to the CC might get traktor confused and cause the issue you've described)
Slot Volume Adjust should be mapped to CC massage.

Our own Ryan shares tips on using Maschine in NI Controller Editor in this video:

You can test all the massages sent out of the controller can be monitored by using any MIDI Translator/Monitor software.
