Default Kickstarter - Plethora of Ports for the new Macbook.

Just saw this on Kickstarter, and it looks like a really, really nice solution for DJ's that might be have interested in the new Macbook apart from the port limitation.

    2 USB-C ports
    1 SDXC card reader
1 mini DisplayPort (mDP 1.2 video output, 4k displays at 60Hz refresh rate)
    3 USB-A 3.0 \ charging ports

Built in battery so it can be used as a power-bank to charge phones (nice)

And yes, it can charge the laptop at the same time.

They were fully funded in just 8.5 hours - Damn! - People aren't ready to give up on ports yet!

Good on them, but why not just buy a laptop that has the features you need?
    Acer E5 i7 16GB 512SSD 2TBHD ~ WIN 10 ~ TSP 2.11 ~ AUDIO 6 ~ DUAL X1s ~ DN-X1600 ~ SPECTRA ~ TWISTER ~ ATH-PRO500 MK2 ~ ZED6FX ~ AT2020

    Portability - simples

Well the only time ever use USB ports is when I'm at home with my monitors plugged in or playing out - the rest of the time in coffee shops, on the couch, staying in hotels etc. its just extra weight.

Plus I always tend to bring a Powerbank with me wherever I go.

However, yes if was in the market for an ultraportable mac, I'd probably go with the Air 13' most likely and suck up the low res screen but this hub does make the Macbook quite the portable machine for day to day use, and capable one when plugged into the hub.

Hey, nothing wrong with having another model to choose from is there - admittedly there is probably few DJ's that want one, but i'm sure there is a few and this makes it a much more viable option for them where it wasn't before
