Default Kontrol S8 not midi mapable in Ableton Live?

So I got Traktor [S8] sending audio to Ableton Live. I have APC 40 controlling the final volume of 4 decks with the vertical faders. I was trying to map some of the S8's buttons and faders to work with Ableton Live. S8 does appear under the MIDI section. I tried playing with a few options, turning on all the buttons and then some [I still don't know what they mean] but I am unable to map anything from LIVE to S8.

    Please help.

    copypasta from manual:
TRAKTOR KONTROL S8 / D2, you can switch the device to MIDI mode by holding down SHIFT + (KONTROL S8: right button) BACK button (below the Browse encoder) simultaneously. The displays will indicate that your controller is now in MIDI mode.

see thats still different than what i am trying to do. when the S8 is in the midi mode. a few buttons just simply don't respond to midi mapping and you can't control Traktor like you should be able to normally.

Hey, I'm actually trying to get the separate audio channels from traktor into Ableton as we speak, and having issue. On 10.11.1 I'm warned that soundflower and JackOSX are outdated and incompatible. So I am searching for the proper way to separate the channels into 4 Ableton inputs. Can you assist? Thanks. I am running the s8.

The S8 is fully midi mappable in MIDI Mode, and there is also a way in which you can use it as a Traktor controller and send out midi notes to a DAW at the same time. I use mine in FL studio no problems, but I'm not currently using ableton & Traktor together.
    Hopefully these will help:
