Threw this together fairly quickly. All feedback gratefully received as ever!

    Hey man,

Cool track, well-built intro but it seems to bore me after a short while.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I want to sound cocky, but I think you should build in more FX, more other drum patterns on the 2nd, 4th and 8th bar, more one shots like a reverbed snare, pitch your delay of a snare at the end of a bar, ...

I think it has some potential to be a banging track if you work on it a little more
Will follow it if you do though

Thanks for the thoughts! You're right it's not completely finished off. Would also like to add some pads but finding it hard to get the right sound.

This is actually heading in a decent direction!

Definitely some extra FX, couple of swooshes and risers etc.

I think a string [if you got Sylenth then preset 224 JP String could work] could add a bit of extra energy and tension to the track. Korg Legacy M1 Plugin has good strings and pads too.

Also dropping that bass loop out at some point would be good, its a bit relentless at the moment... maybe adding one variation at the end of every 16 bars to it too just for a touch of variation.

Maybe a 909 ride at some point and if theres a less stabby bit of the vocal sample you might be able to get a little hook out of it.

Did you make it in ableton btw?

Thanks for the comments! Had a bit of a play with this and added a lead, and beefed up the FX a bit. The ride that was in there before was mixed badly so I've brought that out a bit. Sadly my vocal sample is a collection of stabby elements, which is why I resampled them as a rev reverbs... no hook though but I agree it would add to it.

And yep, I use Live. I don't have either of those synth plugins you mentioned so I'm used to using Live's built in synths, which is what I did for the lead here. How come?

Well it's got some good old school flavour. I'd say look at the Korg M1 plugin, it's very affordable, like £45 and has a wealth of sounds that suits this style of music.

Sylenth has also got a great warm vibe for a soft synth and some good preset packs out there for it too.

Be interested to hear it when it's finished.

    Nice one
