So this will be my first time DJing at a club tonight.
I was just wondering if there is anything that you wise DJTT forum goers think I should know..or if there is anything I am missing as far as hooking into the club’s system…I assume I will have to hook into their mixer, and I have never done this (I use midi controllers).
My setup is as follows:
mac book pro w/ traktor scratch pro
audio 4 dj
2 stanton str8-30 tt’s
vci-100 + akai mpd32
so i assume i would use my RCA → TRS or RCA → XLR cable to to hook from my audio 4 dj output → club mixer input.
Audio 4 RCA to RCA on any line/channel on the mixer RCA input → mixer then to house amp/system (should be hooked up already).
You just need ONE set of RCA’s to an line “IN” on the mixer. Put the volume up on the mixer, adjust the gains, and that’s it. Start playing from your set up.
The problem is that I only have the follow cables:
RCA → XLR
RCA → TSR
RCA → 1/4"
Do most club mixers have an input for any of those listed that will work with my Audio 4 DJ/setup?
(obviously w/ the RCA coming out of the Audio 4 DJ output)
I do have the RCA->RCA’s, but I’m using them for my TT’s, and I will have to go pick up some more if none of the above options will work.
Damn, guess I’ll have to go grab some more. So I guess the three that I listed are more for: club mixer → club sound system or my Audio 4 DJ → club/any system?
Contact whoever booked you or someone at the club ASAP to see about how you’ll hook up. Also, have you made sure they have room for you to set everything up?
