45mm fader part # needed for DIY MIDI Controller

45mm fader part # needed for DIY MIDI Controller

Anybody have a good part # for a 45mm linear fader to use in a DIY MIDI controller I’m building?

I want it to feel like a good crossfader, but it’s should be just a linear 10K fader… preferably a good fit with the Vestax fader caps the DJTT store sells…

PLEEEEEEASE somebody hook me up!

Thanks!

I’m not feelin’ the love… :disappointed:

Nobody has built a MIDI controller with a 45mm slide potentiometer (crossfader) that they’re happy enough with to give me a suggestion???

bump

The Pro X Fade looks pretty good, but I haven’t used it.

My secret to finding parts is downloading the mouser pdf catalog here

http://www.mouser.com/CatalogRequest/CatalogDownloads.aspx

Get the catalog for passive components and look under potentiometers. I like bourns slide pots and alps pots but it really is preference. You are not going to find much in the low restiance (ones you can move fast) at least not in 45mm.

This 60mm is what I have for my DJ crossfader

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bourns/PTS60-02L-103B2/?qs=b8viKDOLiXaWB8SJ8GW14g%3D%3D

if you compare that to this one

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ALPS/RS45111A6A08/?qs=m0BA540hBPd3sxZzJ%252bQ35g%3D%3D

notice the 2nd one is thin thats for faders where you want physical restiance (volume levels).

Hit me up if you have any questions

oh 1 more thing if you google 45mm dj crossfader thers some $40-$80 ones out there
