64Pad Controller. What to buy?

64Pad Controller. What to buy?

Hey guys, i own a Maschine MK2 and thinking about a 64Pad Controller as an addition.
So i’m pending on a Maschine Jam and an Abelton Push 2. I only worked with Maschine 2 Software until now. I used Abelton only as a trial version but i liked it.
For now i prefer the Push 2 because it’s a really cool hardware but i don’t know if i really need it.
Thanks for your advice.

Jam’s pads are of the button clicky kind, like the groups select ones on your MK2 so not really the best to finger drum with but should still serve as a nice companion if you plan on keeping the MK2 around. Push 2’s pads are proper finger drumming ones with velocity sensitivity and after touch (like the main pads on the MK2).

So it comes to: What do you want to use the larger grid for? Are you happy with Maschine or feel it limiting?

What about one of the Novation Launchpads?

Those are some small pads. They should mage the Launchpad larger with proper pad size.

Like the Launchpad Pro? Looks OK to me…

EDIT: That looks about the same size as JAM and Push.

Nope, those are a lot smaller pads than Push really.

My hands are about the same size.

Size isn’t really that important to me - it would all be about feel.

I’ve never used a Push, or Push 2, but I’m guessing they have a nicer, “squishier” (MPC’ish?) feel to 'em. At least, that’s what I’d hope for at £500!

If they’re not, I’d save myself over £400 and go for a Launchpad Pro.

I wanna keep the MKII and want to use another controller in addition. I really like to fingerdrum on the Maschine, while arrange, trigger scenes, playing keys and so on on the other controller. I know that the Jam can´t be played individual, when a Maschine is active. So the both use the same sounds and groups at the same time. That´s a little problem to me. THe 100$ more for the Push 2 is not the problem, if it´s really worth it

JAM is very much designed to work alongside the other MASCHINE hardware.
