A controllerism routine inspired by Ean

Hey,

This is my latest piece of work. It’s inspired by Ean’s latest juggle performance. I used “Aerodynamic” and “Work Is Never Over” to give it a slightly different touch. Please comment and gimme some feedback  Thanks!

sweet!

Noiiiiiice!

pretty cool performance..

Thanks for the feedback guys =)
Keep 'em coming!

Pretty sweet, but I think you should work on the keying a bit. The songs are pretty off key towards the end. Either adjust the key on either song or pick a different song pair that’s more closely matched from the beginning. Also, you’re a bit offbeat on some of your cues, but that’s just down to practice

Thanks for the feedback korona!
You’re right about the keys… I just used the keys RE spit out. I guess shouldn’t always blindly trust key detection software
As for the cueing; I turned sync off until “Work Is Never Over”'s breakdown, because i find the sound of a wrongly set cue with sync on worse than one with sync off. Nonetheless, my cues are a little offbeat and I’ll try to improve my timing in future routines.

nice to see your accept of feedback djontt!
keep with that attitude and you will be awesome in much less time then the people who doesn’t accept any criticism
I’ll see the video when I get home

Hehe thanks V-Hoff!
I hope I’ll be awesome some day…

I’d be careful of pushing the controllerism and too many noises at once. I got bored of the cue juggling after a bit and then when all the beats kinda came in my ears got exhausted from trying to pick things out. either your beatmatching was off or there was just too many drums taking some of the frequency response away making the midrange muddy and hard to breathe. Think about tossing on a midrange filter on one song when you’re doing a routine like this if you NEED that much going on. You’ll keep what you’re doing from getting lost in the mud and when a DJ has serious CONTROL over their effects it sounds good.

Good luck, and great job!

Thanks Monika!
I guess when I did the routine I didn’t pay attention to the details anymore. When I listen to it now I notice all the things you mentioned, e.g. song selection, cueing, fx. But while in the process of creating I had kind of a “tunnel hearing” going on (if you can say that). I was just so focused on getting it done, that I didn’t take the time to listen to it again and pay attention to the most basic things, like song selection or composition of the routine. Maybe I should have taken a little more time.
However. You guys give me so great feedback, that is almost inevitable for me to improve these things next time. Thanks again!
