He’s got flair, that’s for sure.
I have a friend who’s a professional drummer and travels the world learning from different cultures. In Africa he was taught that the culture there respects someone who can produce the same rhythm, flawlessly, for half an hour or more. All this twiddly stuff and variations every time doesn’t impress them.
He needs to learn a little consistency, repeat something more than once, go back to a pattern he used before. Until I see that it’s just impressive bluster and sparkly. Certainly has style!
