Ableton Live Mapping - How to do a Modifier Button?
Hey guys!
I was just mapping my Korg NanoKontrol on Ableton Live and i have a question:
How can I map a button that when it´s pressed, would change the parameter controlled by a knob?
I want to press a button like the shift button in my keyboard: Whule i press it, i can control the bass on the song by using a knob, and while i press another button, the same knob would control the mid equalization.
or you could make a audio effect rack with 2 chains
in 1 chain you load the bass audio effect
on the other one you load the mid eq
map both knobs to 1 macro knob of the effect chain
set the audible range (in the chain display) of the first chain from 0 to 63
set the second chain to be hearable when the chain selector is located between 64 and 127
now map your “modifier” button to the chain selector and voila
you are going to have midi jump to deal with, say when you cut the bass all the way then switch to mids (which say is at the middle postion) the knob will be at zero while the software will think it should be at the middle position.
probably not doing a good job explaining it but it is something to think about…
