So I’m pretty pumped about the ableton push coming out but I just noticed something on the ableton website today. Originally the push was supposed to ship around march 18th, but on the Ableton website it is saying that it will be 12-16 weeks before the push ships now. Anyone know anything?
Never understood the “ill be pissed cuz i pre ordered” argument. Youve been producing without push for years now. Did everyone really expect such a hyped product being released at the same time as a long awaited major version update for Ableton and not think theyd have some issues?
If you preordered under the assumption that it would be sent out when first stated then i think it’s totally fair to be unhappy with a possible 3 month delay.
Maybe… There are a few typos on the Ableton site.
On the Push page it says 8 touch encoders. On the Tech Specs page it says 11 touch encoders.
So I can’t really tell if I’m getting Push in a month… or three.
I’ll just have to wait for the e-mail confirming that they shipped it.
My pre-order status still says 2-4 weeks, however, on the push page I see 12-16 so I am hoping that they are just sold out of the first batch and are giving 12-16 weeks for new pre-orders.
For anyone who ordered one I’d like to know how long it took and if you really thing it’s work it. NI just released a new maschine template that makes if compatible with live 9 and you can get some great functionality out of it. So I’m just wondering if its really worth adding another pad controller when I can get the best of both worlds with maschine in stand alone mode and with maschines ableton mapping
I bought Live 9 from an ableton instructor that I knew because I could save money that way.
He told me:
He didn’t like push at all when he got to try it.
Ableton are gonna be in deep shit because they can’t handle the demand for push. Even ableton instructors that want to demo push can’t get a hold of one. He said only 50 pushes are in existance at the moment. But just 50 seems a bit exaggerated.
Well being how push is being produced by akai and not Ableton, I don’t think this is the case. Even if it’s back ordered for a bit, it’s not like akai is new to the game, they have the ability to produce push in large quantities.
