So my friend has acquired a Push just recently and I’d like to know different ways that we can utilize a Kontrol S2 on Traktor and the Push on Ableton to work together on one Macbook. I’m aware of the Midi Clock functionality but what I’m trying to get from y’all are. HOW WOULD YOU utilize both equipment in a LIVE set up (gig)?
Run 4 channels into Ableton (8 total)- Have 4 channels of samples already loaded, and then start re-sampling the crap out of everything coming in on the 4 traktor channels.
Step Sequencing could be pretty damn cool, so layering your own beats on top of sampled loops … really down to both of your own skills though at the end of the day though and how comfortable you both are with each other overlapping.
I know push has been designed to be used without a screen, I just don’t see that being a real option IMHO as a DJ setup unless you are integrating your own stuff - IMHO Get a second monitor for the Ableton user.
