Adding a woofer
Hello sound specialist,
Im new at this. I have a small set-up that has a DJ controller going to a laptop, a 2 channel amp (A & B) from the DJ controller that connects to 2 speakers. Sound pretty good. I want to add a base woofer in the middle. How do I go about adding that. 
You need to have a second amp and a crossover to add a sub woofer (not base woofer).
Unless you have powered speakers, then you would go out of the output on one speaker and to the input of the other.
Depending on the sub…And assuming you’re talking about a sub. Amp channels out to sub, hopefully sub has crossover and outs to go to the monitors. At least that’s how mine is setup
If you are using powered speakers (amplifiers are built-in) and XLR (balanced) connectors (the professional way to do it):

check to see if your speakers have a THRU output.
You can use that output to send the signal to a powered subwoofer.
If you DO NOT have a thru output then you have to split those RCA cables using an RCA splitter.

From the looks of other threads arkansasboogie has posted… I don’t think he has a clue about connecting anything anywhere and with no detailed information (brands, model numbers etc) he can’t be helped.
you’re almost correct. I actually just did a small reception party, made a good piece of cheese. But i wanted a bit more base in my setup and kinda know what I want, BUT thanks to those that wish to explain their ideas it came out pretty good. I knew what I was wanting I was just making sure, there could have been more than one way to get it done, see look everyone had some input, Thanks again. By the way the SUB WOOFER has a built in 1000 watt amp, it sounds pretty good for what I am doing.
You should throw the model #'s at us of the products in question.
The QSC KW12’s have great sound, do you happen to have the KW 181 sub?
I very much doubt this. If the guy has a small DJ setup then I doubt he has a $1400 sub.
And are you referring to the K12 or KW122? I’m actually debating on which pair I want to buy next.
This is just what I did sounds great. I went with powered speakers 1000w 12 Rockvilles two with stands, then went from them to a passive 1000w speaker
