allen & heath xone 42 vs. denon dnx-1600
Hey everyone. So i’ve been saving for a new mixer and I am between the xone 42 and the dnx-1600. I mix mostly electro-house and hip-hop. I’ve heard a&h mixers have really good sound quality and filters. The 42 also has an fx send. The dnx-1600 has full midi and an fx section already built in. I can get the xone for 750 and the denon for 1000. Anyone have any extra insight on these mixers? I’m also considering the smaller xone 22 and dnx-600 models that are 2 channel. Thanks for your help!
You forgot that the X1600 also has a built in audio interface, and is Traktor Certified
Are you positive it’s full midi I was thinking it was just a portion? The TSP certification is a big plus to. Xone’s are really nice mixers as well though. Your best bet is to try and find some to play with.
The cool thing about the 1600 is that you can simultaneously pass audio through the 4 channels and midi map the controls at the same time. Having a midi mixer and standard
4 channel. No other mixer at this price level does this. Also you can send effects to all four channels simultaneously. and 4 page midi strip to program extra controls. Im strongly considering this mixer.
Thanks for your replies guys. I went to a guitar centerand checked out both the ddm-4000 and dnx-1600. The ddm-4000 is a good bargain but it seems too confusing to me. I like the layout of the dnx-1600. They didn’t have any a&h mixers though. Any ideas where I can check one out?

Ive been intrigued by that mixer but I personally have not had good luck with Behringer mixers, but if it works for you go for it. I think the only question about the Denon would also be the build quality over several years. Most of what Ive read about the denon is positive. Also the time built in timecode feature is something that interests me!
I really liked that 1600 when it came and and still do. Plus with Scratch certification if you can find cheap copy of Duo=free upgrade to TSP2.
so what mixer you choose? im also lookin for new mixer

In your case I would go for denon…Xone 42 is more likely in range with denon 1100 or 1500.
I will go for a used xone 42 or denon 1500 if I find some. In other case, new xone 22 or ddm4000 but I just can’t decide…
ya i think im pretty set on the denon mixer
cool thing about the ddm4000 is that you can set the frequency range for each band digitally,
so what I did was go on the A&H website and found the eq band ranges for the Xone:42 and set them to the DDM.
I believe you can set the channel eq’s to be isolators as well… think im saying that right.
I sold my DDM thinking that I was going to build my own midi mixer, but now I regret it since I miss the warmer analog sound and the channel VU meters…

are there other cheap 4 channel mixers that are around the price/quality of a ddm 4000? either MIDI or analogue
I really dislike the layout of the ddm and that you can’t map the LEDs in MIDI mode, which is a minor thing though as i’d prefer a 4 channel soundcard anyway (easier to set up in clubs)
No, ddm4000 is one of a kind. Its really a state of the art mixer by functions and price.
Only problem with it is its manufacturer. It can bug time to time.
yeah running a behringer 2 channel mixer currently, it’s…well…cheap 
but the ddm 4k is supposed to have way better build/sound quality. I’ll see if I can find a used one here as they’re still around 470$ new (Switzerland) and I’d prefer to use it as an external mixer which means a 4 channel soundcard or another audio 2 and use both combined…

It has great sound quality. In Serbia new is 300 eur and used go for 200.
I use djx750 now…hate it
