Alternate Traktor control vinyl

Alternate Traktor control vinyl

Anyone out there know if there are any sources (I.e., not Native Instruments) for Traktor control vinyl…specifically colored vinyl. I have the basic NI black and a set of NI clear vinyl for Traktor but am looking for some cooler alternatives beyond the red, blue, black, white, and clear that NI Offer. I mean Serato has a ton of different color options for their time code vinyl. I like the orange and green that NI put out, but those were limited editions and not available anymore.

Makes me want to switch to x-wax or something Just so I can use cool Serato Vinyl.

A few months back all the custom Traktor time code makers disappeared because NI sent them cease and desist letters. Apparently they didn’t take too kindly to ripping off their proprietary timecodemfor their own gain.

On the plus side, Deckadance 2 can use any control vinyl except Traktor’s, and you can get the beta now to try it out. You can even burn a control CD from the program, very nifty feature!

:+1:

on what interface?

Any interface, as long as it has an input, from what I gather.

oh really? so my audio 6 will work but not my TSP2 vinyls?

Is there a reason for no traktor timecode support?

There seems to be a very obvious avoidance of NI throughout the program. For example, the crusty old BCD 2000 mapping is already included, but there aren’t any mappings for a single piece of NI gear.

EDIT: That and Traktor sue anyone who uses their timecode file apart from them, hence there’s no custom traktor vinyl dealers anymore.

hmm v strange there is no x1 mapping?

i sense a war is brewing

sambo if your in the uk, ull know winter hasnt left!

Jebus it’s cold down here in the South West.

Which custom timecode makers are your referring to?

Where did you get this story from?

Traktor Timecode is copyrighted. No-one is allowed to press it without a licence. Seems pretty fair and obvious to me.

I’ll probably take a look at it…But I’m not really going to switch away from Traktor lightly…Maybe I am just vain, but I want cool colored vinyl. Is it necessary, NO. I just want it. Purely aesthetic purposes.

You could maybe get a custom-made vinyl if you’re that desperate?

Not really desperate, just annoyed and hoping that there was a resource or something that someone knew about that would be of help…but if it is copyrighted by NI, then that limits the ability of 3rd party sources to provide that unless they are licensed by NI. I know there is the Slow Roasted Scratchy Seals & Bully Breaks with Traktor time code on side B…but that seems to be the only option as far as i can tell.

http://www.turnstylerecords.com/ Dubplates are amazing and can come in many colors.

Wont get more than a couple hundred plays tho. And yes no one is pressing custome traktor vinyl anymore. Its too much of an expensive investment tot ake the risk on being sued or receiving a cease order from NI and have a bunch of backstock.

Thanks, but not interested in dub plates for time code…maybe for some of my tracks…something to consider.

Have you tried VHT vinyl dye? I dont know how well it will work but ya could always give it a shot. Personally I have clear vinyls that I removed the center label off of. We used to sell custom slipmats through the site so I uused a couple that have my logo on them. When people take pics it looks like picture vinyl.
