Alternatives to NAMM

Alternatives to NAMM

I’m quite interested in attending one of these trade fairs, but due to the fact that I live in the UK it would be a bit of a problem for me to travel to California to go to NAMM.

Are there any similar alternatives that are available to me closer to home? Preferably the UK, but I wouldn’t say no to any in Europe

BPM. It’s in birmingham at the beginning of october, there’s a big thread on it here: Official BPM 2011, Birmingham, Thread

Ahh, cheers mate. I’d seen that link before but for some reason I presumed it meant Birmingham in America so I never clicked on it

Been there, done that.
BPM is prob the best one in the UK to goto or in Europe in my opinion.
I can remember when it first started out at Donington Park.

Musik Messe’s probably better for new gear releases etc. But it’s, you know, in Germany.

This year’s BPM looks to have some interesting releases though. Can’t say more than that right now.

you tease!

Of course. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know the companies, but they’re playing their cards close to their chest. I actually like it that way, so I’ll be surprised when they come out, rather than knowing months in advance.

Why are there none in scotland!

Demand I guess. Look at it this way, London has a population of 8 million and doesn’t have a proper DJ show either. Birmingham is pretty central for everyone in the UK, has the largest exhibition centre and is serviced by a proper international airport and solid rail and motorway links.

It really is the best location for the UK, which believe it or not is a massively important market, and I believe second only to the US in income for manufacturers.

Birmingham does indeed make most sense. It’s the most central and accessible place to the most people. Such a shame I can’t make it this year!

It’s the opposit that Apple does with their product… They should fill the market with rumors

Would ya try Sonar. It is of course next year and its in Spain. But i really enjoyed fullenglishpint print write up/review about it. I also think its more geared towards the nightlife side of things the line up for this year was quiet impressive.
