Amplifying recording

Amplifying recording

I have recorded a mix at -10db, which I have read is a perfectly normal level to record at in order to avoid clipping, I’ve also read that even -50 db could get amped back up to a reasonable volume with no loss of quality, my question is how do you amplify it back to standardized volume? I just don’t want to upload something to soundcloud that is noticeably quieter. Thanks in advance for any help! (I recorded through a traktor s4 if that means anything)

u recorded while playing on an S4 controller but what did you record WITH?

s4 was the player
whats the recorder?

Traktor pro 2’s audio recorder.

yes, recording quiet is normal and recommended. throw your recording into audacity (free) and boost the volume up that way. you may also want to check THIS THREAD for some more tips
