Another Wedding DJ

Here’s my mobile rig. As stated in my introduction post, I’m a wedding DJ, so I try to keep things as familiar and portable as possible for easy setup and use.

Pictured above is the reception setup:
Platform - Traktor
Controller - Kontrol S2
Mics - Shure BLX2/B58 & WL185 with BLX4R receivers
Mixer - Mackie DL1608 (wireless mixing on the iPad via dedicated router and wifi signal)
Speakers - Mackie SRM450v3’s
Newest addition - Sabine FBX 2020 Plus (though about to replace it with either DBX AFS2 or Driverack PA2… can’t decide which! I need your advise!!)

Outdoor ceremony setup (not pictured):
Platform - Traktor DJ app on iPad
Mics - Shure BLX2/B58 & WL185 with BLX4R receivers
Mixer - Mackie ProDX8 (connected via Bluetooth to stream audio from the iPad and wirelessly control the mixer via Mackie’s app)
Speakers - Mackie SRM350v3’s

Questions/comments/concerns are always welcome!

Checked your profile! Dream job:slight_smile:

What are those mesh screens you’re using to hide everything?

Hey jrm5261,

I use the American DJ Event Facade TT to hide everything on my table. I know that a lot of people DIY stuff like this themselves (they’re all over YouTube), but I needed something fast, and I’ve used it every gig since I got it.

And I use On-Stage SSA100B on all my stands, including the stand for my Chauvet GigBAR IRC. I know some DJ’s and sound guys hate the look of these, but my clients absolutely love them.

I know lots of wedding DJ’s don’t cover up their stuff like I do, but I’m telling you, you’re clients will think you’re 10x better than you actually are if they think you look 10x better than other deejays they’ve seen. The wedding scene isn’t about being able to scratch or even mix well… these clients only care about how good you look in front of their guests, how well you emcee, and how well you read the crowd during dancing.

thanks for the information and the product links, I’m investigating my options.
