Anyone got a list of musical genre’s? Trying to organize my chunes.

Hey guys, I’m trying to start organizing my library by cleaning up all the sloppy tags in an attempt to make everything a lot more searchable with smart playlists.

One thing I really want to do is tag all songs by their genre…but as I started I realized that it was not very easy to label the sounds that I can hear are related in my head.

Basically, I don’t have all the words to describe the type of music I have.

So, I’d like to compile a list of electronic music genres … can anyone please contribute some genres that you listen to?

For example:

  • moombahton
  • dubstep
  • dutch house
  • nu disco
  • indie electro

etc…

This was really just done as a joke I think, but it lists lots of the genres.

House
House - Tech
House - Progressive
House - Deep

Nu Disco - Slow
Nu Disco - Boogie
Nu Disco - Deep
Nu Disco - Moody

etc etc

HAHA that was brilliant… ahh some of those songs took me back… now i feel like going through my old record collection and doing an “old skool” mix
