But i like Soundcloud more:
If mixcloud would be more like soundcloud in layout & function i’m sold. Soundcloud is by far more suitable for production, edits and remixes.
Yeah soundcloud is better for sure, but you can’t go past free storage for (as far as I know) endless mixes. Isn’t soundcloud like an hour of content before you have to pay?
Yes it is but i’ve reached a state where i, if i find something that good, are willing to pay for it.
I always put my self in their place. If i had used several hours of programming and designing and some guy thinks my work is really great - then i would love to get a little money in return for my work.
That is how you can manage to keep doing what you love instead of getting a job at KFC. If people would just pay for what they love and show the “author” a little respect in that way those firebrands out there would keep making great stuff!
Also that is why i can’t understand people who actually thinks that software like Traktor are free. Even worse - Great new VST’s for producing music are getting a rarity - why? Because people do piracy..

Yeah, this is all true. But really if you’re going to have a decent site getting as many hits as soundcloud then you’re crazy not to advertise on it for cash. Most people aren’t going to pay for something they can get for free somewhere else and most people are willing to put up with a banner here and there.
Pretty sure mixcloud has a couple of ads on it and if that’s the cost for free hosting then yeah I’m cool with that. If I was in the position of getting thousands of listens to my tracks on soundcloud I’d definitely throw them a few bucks, but yeah, not really worth it for me..
Dont misunderstand me. I think mixcloud is good - but i love the way soundcloud work.
If the trackname tagging from mixcloud could be brought to Soundcloud then i’m all good.
