Podcasts where the focus is conversation rather than DJ mixes. Would love to listen to interviews & conversation about DJing when I’m driving to work in the morning. The only show like this I’ve heard is passionatedj.com’s podcast, anyone know of others?
It’s not DJ specific, but Sonic Talk podcast covers music technology, including DJ controllers, but it seems to be mostly focused on new tech and and vintage synths. I love it. Also on iTunes.
A great podcast for music creators is Pensado’s Place. Legendary mix engineer Dave Pensado interviews some of the most successful producers, songwriters and engineers in the music industry. It’s a wealth of knowledge if you aspire in any of those fields, and there are more than 170 episodes. I just discovered it, so I’ve been going back and watching old episodes. I could rewatch many of them over and over and still learn new stuff. Also available on iTunes.
i supposed if you searched for podcasts called “Radio Show” but thats only IF the people doing the podcast
are acutally tagging it correctly
a RADIO SHOW is what you are looking for (with talking)
a MIX SHOW is the alternate where its more about mixing
ResidentExchange is also a really great one, put out by Resident Advisor. Basically just has guest DJs, club owners and other influential features from within the dance music scene come on and talk about random topics. Sometimes it will be a particular nightclubs history, other times a particular cities vinyl scene or whatever. Stuff like that.
edit: ah just saw someone else mentioned it.. I stand by my statement though. Some of the most enlightening conversations on the scene i’ve ever heard have come from this podcast.
Hey guys the episode with Rich from Thud Rumble is up. There’s a lot of advice for people who’d like to get in to turntablism or even just get tables. You can get it here:
