Are eBay pre-approved listings legit?

In my search for CDJ 900s/2000s, I’ve come across quite a lot of these seemingly too-good-to-be-true “pre-approved” listings in which sellers are listing NEW CDJ 900s/2000s with a DJM 900 Nexus for $2,500. You need to contact the seller first for whatever reason. Just sounds uber sketchy. Anyone have any experience with these listings?

Probably not. They undoubtedly want to ask for your personal details before they add you to the list. Saying that, it’s worth giving it a go and seeing what they actually want from you, just don’t give them anything.

they want you to contact them away from ebay so they can convince you that using a wire transfer is a better way to pay and they will give you a discount if you do it.

I used to mess with them and say I was fitting out an entire club. They caught on that i was B.S.ing them and hacked my email account a couple of weeks later to make live shut it down to hide any evidence of our conversations, or so my paranoid brain tells me

I figured. Thanks guys!

I won an auction on eBay (Buy it Now), and it seems too good to be true. I haven’t paid yet. It’s not pre-approved or anything; just straight Paypal. Can I still get fucked over? It was $2,500 for 2 CDJ 2000s + DJM 900. Kinda absurd.

All the legit-looking listings on ebay.com seem to be at least twice that price. Does the seller have any decent feedback?

If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

What is the Sellers rating like?

Is it coming straight from your own country? (I’m assuming America) or is it being sent from China/Thailand/Other?

Has the seller taken photos of the products? Do you know they’re working?

If it’s legit, good work, but considering that it’s nearly 1/3 the price, i’d expect the gear to be in a pretty beat up state, dead on arrival or fake. That being said, Paypal has a pretty great fraud system. As long as you aren’t wiring the money straight over you should be fine

1213 feedback, all positive. I checked his/her previous/current listings, all of which were/are antiques and collectives.

Here’s the listing. Don’t know if you can see it. Shipping from Rhode Island.

Looks like something is up with their store. Everything is $2500.

I noticed. Seems fishy.

I bet their account got hacked. Did the seller tell you to pay a different paypal address than the one listed on eBay? That happened to me once where a dude sold a bunch of phones from my account and I started getting hate mail from the buyers when the phones never arrived.

I haven’t attempted to pay yet. Still pretty skeptical atm.

Also it seems those auctions have a URL redirect scam going on. Pay attention to the URL address when you click the link for the auction.

Edit: I suggest you change your ebay password now, run virus scans etc.

Done.
