Audio drop outs from CPU spiking?
I just got Traktor Pro the other day and have been learning it and mixing on it, but I keep getting these audio drop outs and it seems to be from the CPU spiking as I see the CPU meter jump up to the red.
I don’t have any other apps running, bluetooth and my wireless are off as well. Any suggestions?
What computer are you using? Do you have an audio interface or are you running your sound out of the onboard sound?

Have you tried playing with the latency at all? Up the latency until it stops. The sweet spot around here seems to be between 11 and 15ms, which is plenty low.
I have it set at 40ms and I was still getting the drop outs
Oh, well that’s not good. I’ll have to leave this for someone who knows more about macs than I do. Is tehre a latency checker for macs so you can see if this is happening without anything running? That’ll be a good way to see if it’s your comp or the software
Just seems odd as I just purchased the laptop and wiped the hard drive and gave it a fresh install
Upgrade to Traktor Pro 1.1.2 and see if you are still having issues
It could be a lot of different things. I know Dell laptops have this issue because of the motherboard. So it could be a strict hardware thing. Best way to find out is to test the latency when nothing is running and see if it naturally happens.
I dont know about Macs, but on my PC I was getting Pops and Drop outs with a cpu spike and couldnt figure it out. I started tuning my pc and noticed when I went to the system properties that the cpu kept showing different speeds everytime. I have a 2.ghz1 dual core and it kept showing 1.5ghz, 500mhz, 1.1 ghz. I finally turned of all the power saving features and put it into an always all on mode and that went away and the pops and drop outs disappeared. It shows 2.1 ghz everytime I pull up the system properties now too.
stock soundcard or usb soundcard… ?
