Audio2DJ soundcard alternative

Audio2DJ soundcard alternative

I don’t know anymore who should I blame - Native Instruments drivers, or Windows, but quite frankly, I’ve had enough of sound popping/crackling issues on Windows with this card. I don’t really do much DJing lately, so two outputs on card are enough for me. True, when I turn off the WiFi/wired internet and all other programs other than my music player, card works fine. But that is not the point as I want to listen music without these stupid cracks. What I’m looking for is a USB sound card which will not cause sound issues like this. Does anyone have any recommendations?

What are your computer spec mate? Does it meet the required minimum suggested on NI site?

Hi. The PC is powerful enough, I’m sure. Intel Core i3, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD. As I said, the crackling disappears when I turn off the internet and all other apps, but I want a card which doesn’t have those issues.

Ni recommends at least i5 for their audio interfaces:

I have the equally powerful laptop as yours and it also gives me those sort of issues while the internet connection is enabled.
Did you try measure the latency with LatencyMon?

It’s not the card that has the issues - it’s your PC.

What OS are you running? Your own description confirms that the machine is powerful enough to run the audio app ALONE - but not with internet, etc… running at the same time.

There are a TON of optimisations that you can carry out to make your machiine perform better with audio. You should look into it.

This site can help you a great deal:

As a starting point, set your processor to background, NOT apps:

To change the performance of foreground and background programs

  1. Open System in Control Panel.

  2. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

  3. On the Advanced tab, under Processor scheduling, do one of the following:

• Click Background services to assign equal amounts of processor resources to all programs.

Like people have said here: it sounds like DPC latency is the issue. That’s a fundamental issue with Windows PCs.

Exactly… I have a gaming PC i7 quad core 4Ghz 8GB RAM DDR3 running Windows 7 on SSD and still have issues with real time audio in Traktor. Latency got even worse on newer versions of Windows…

This is why I always suggest a Mac for DJing and music production.

Oh no you di’n’t.
