Audio8 vs audio10? What is the difference?

I want to get dvs I think. I miss using vinyl to mix. I’m temPted by he s4 but tbh I just hate it. I went to west end Dj today and had another go but I’m just not feeling it.

I’m happy to stick to my vci se I just still prefer it but want that vinyl touch for at home fun or easy set up club situations.

I’m not bothered about 4 decks but I need full advanced fx.

Don’t think I can justify dropping 600 clams on the latest audio 10 tpro2 set up.

What’s the way to go?

Audio 8?

2 extra out’s and ac plug, Ill stick with the audio 8

The Audio10 also has Thru which can allow you to play normal CDs/vinyl without having to unplug anything.

If I can pick up a second hand audio 8, what am I gonna have to pay to get traktor scratch pro 2 though…

I’m confused by the upgrade costs etc

250 euros / pounds all in for audio 8 and tsp 2 seems reasonable bur much more is getting a but much…

A Traktor Scratch Pro 2 certified upgrade kit (€299)

Basically the Audio 10 forces you to use some fucking bullshit power adapter all the time. Fuck that shit.

And don’t bang on about audio through, splitter cables are like £3.

Audio 8>audio 10

  • the 8 has midi I/O

The 10 has midi tooooooooooooo don’t ya knooooooooooow

It’s got 2 extra ins & 2 extra outs (for the loop recorder), requires a power supply (supplied with it), has audio thro built in instead of using multicores, and it’s a bit bigger than the audio8

Doesnt need powe plug unless you are using Thru

Do you have one and can confirm this? I thought it did need it at all times.

Sorry I was thinking A6DJ

But still… 2 cdjs/TTs + Mixer + Laptop = 4 plugs 5 with Audio10
Hell my powerstrip in my room alone has 7 plugs powering my PC, speakers, PS2, monitor, 2nd PC, and something else I dunno XD and still have 1 plug free and when I use my APC40 it needs the last one.

So whats the problem with needing it plugged in?

What’s the cheapest way of getting full traktor scratch then?

Ebay?

Wish i’d gotten those £250 Audio 8 packages that were going just before the new line was dropped :disappointed:

The cheapest way is to find an old traktor duo set for sale.

Yeah but then with duo, what do I have to drop to get it up to tspro2?

?

69€ for the upgrade license.

Right… so if I just buy the soundcard though (audio 8) I have to spend €299,00.

That’s what seems steep to me.

The idea of buying a second hand traktor scratch pro package and then going through the de register debacle is putting me off…

Hmmm… so I could buy Duo 2 which ships with an Audio 6 right

Then upgrade to pro and get full FX control right?

Yep. And you’re free from shitty power cable issues.

As long as we’re talking about upgrades and stuff…

I got the Audio 6, but I’m starting realize some of the cool stuff I could do if I had access to the sample decks. I would need the Audio 8 for that, right?

And if so, do retailers offer an easy way to swap/exchange/upgrade from the Audio 6 to Audio 8, generally? Or do I pretty much have to sell my Audio 6 and then just go buy an Audio 8?

The Audio 8 will be pretty much impossible to find new since it’s no longer in production.

You can route both the sample decks out the additional outputs on the audio 6 and into a channel on your mixer.

You could also either use the loop recorder or record your mix with the additional input.
