Beats by dr.dre good choice?

Beats by dr.dre good choice?

Is Beats by dr.dre studio also a good choice for DJing? I’m hesitate to make a choice between AIAIAI TMA1, HDJ 1000 and Beat by dr.dre. Thanks for giving me some advices.

Beats are over priced. Paying for the fact they ‘look cool’. I personally hate the design. TMA1’s look understated and professional, can’t vouch for sound quality though. Search this forum for other headphone ideas, round ups etc.

I’ve tried them at the local bestbuy and other stores and honestly the bass is pounding but the clarity is horrible. IMO though try them out they have them displayed in most BestBuys and I think in Apple Stores.

I would say no. Overpriced and no swivel cups. There are MUCH better choices out there for DJ’s

If you willing to spend that amount of $$$ on cans I would go for the Sennheiser HD 25 ii’s, the AiAiAi’s or Ultrasones. The only things I’ve heard about the Beast cans is that they are way overpriced. there are much better choices out the for that price bro. Cheers.

check them out. Use the SR80’s. They are open air so sometimes you have to cup them and or turn up your cue gain a little bit, but they are epic. Swivel cups. Light as hell. The more you pay for each model the better they get really. The 325’s are my dream headphone.

I’ve heard good things about the HDJ 1000s except they also have a tendency to break

I would definitely recommend the Sennheiser HD 25 ii’s over any of those. The HDJ-1000’s have amazing sound quality but when you wear them for more than anything over 20 minutes even switching around ears and what not, they get really uncomfortable in that they press tightly against your ears

i have the beats. the no swivel sucks. other than that they arent bad. but seriously if you are doing djing get different headphones they arent meant for that purpose anyway

Beats are overpriced and merely a fad. Go for 25s or AIAIAIs

Why have HDJ-2000s not been mentioned yet? In my country they’re the same price as beats by Dre, so the choice would be very easy…

Always been advised against open backs to DJ with - whilst the sound reproduction is good, you’re going to have issues with ambient noise, surely.

if your on a budget:

Sony 7506’s
these thing take a good beating and sound great.

I would rather have these than Dre’s any day.

I disagree on the beating part. But the sound is phenomenal and for ~120$ you cant go wrong these are AMAZING.

dont waste your time or money on Beats.

Same thing. Horrible sound, pounding bass & your ears get mushed into those cups. And don’t forget that a lot of em break after a couple of months of intense use. Mine survived about 5-6 months going from club to club.

I would go for the Sennheiser HD25 for sure.
Great sound and I’ve had em for about 3 years now, only thing I had to change were the cushions, but that was like 10$ lol

I have owned the Beats for over a year now.

i would not recommend them for djing not because they don’t sound great (they do, the best buy display sucks but if you bring yur own ipod & put em through the paces yull see)

Not because the sound canceling works great and they’re truly comfortable but because they’re goddam FRAGILE.

For f+cks sakes, if yur going to pay that much for your cans, you’d expect a quality build. Sadly these are not. The earcups are really easy to lose & I already had a headband break on me within 8 months of use (still on the warranty, whew). I was REALLY careful with them.

Also they boost up the sound & the NOISEFLOOR meaning I hear a clickclik from my mixer’s lfo or the humm of an Ipod if I touch the screen.

Seriously nice sounding for most music but not worth the dough cause of sh+tty construction. As always Monster is overpriced…Last time I’m buying any of their products

Apparently, the beats were personally tested by Dr Dre using 50 cent’s ‘In da club’ as a benchmark track. I hate that song :stuck_out_tongue:

Just get the Senns HD25 and you wont regret it.

HD25s for the win

see what dre hasta say about it and judge for urself:
