Behringer DDM4000 midi to usb cable, advice needed

Hi there, I recently bought a Behringer DDM4000 and the midi to usb cable I received with it doesn’t work. Whether that is because its faulty or not compatible with the mixer I don’t know.

Here is the cable I have:

What I’m trying to determine is what sort of midi to usb cable will work with my mixer and how much do I have to spend? Any advice would be much appreciated, Thank you.

That’s all you should need. Download this and check to see if any midi is getting INTO your computer from the DDM4K:

Ok, checked that, lights coming on on the cable itself but no input from the mixer. Iv tried using a friends cable and I had no issues with that, everything worked fine so I reckon theres a problem with the cable im stuck with. Question now is, what sort of cable do I need to get? Are all midi usb cables interchangeable with all mixers or do certain mixers require a certain cables with different capabilities?

It’s possible that you just got a dud cable. if you’ve used one that works, just buy one like that.

Cool, thanks for ur help

I have that MIDI adapter and it works fine for my keyboard. Only when plugged directly into the computer though, rather than through a hub.

Is there something you have to enable on the DDM for it to send MIDI?

Also the connectors on that adapter are confusing - I think IN connects to OUT on your mixer and vice versa.

Dont think anything has to be enabled, tryed using a friends cable and that worked fine so i reckon its just a dud cable. No worries

^This.

I used one of these: http://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOUNO m-audio midi sport uno.

all cables are interchangeable. make sure the MIDI IN is going into the MIDI OUT of your mixer.

Tryed that, light on the adaptor is coming on when pressing buttons on mixer so signal is definitely being received but traktor isnt responding to it for some reason…

Have you set the correct I/O ports in the Controller Manager?

Nice one! it works fine now, thanks so much for that, it was driving me mad!
