Best way to fix a stiff pitch fader

Best way to fix a stiff pitch fader

Picked up a cheap VCI 100 today and am impressed by the build quality! But the left pitch fader is quite stiff..

What’s the best way to get it running smoothly again? I only have GT85 at the moment but since so many warn against using WD40 I figured it wasn’t the best idea.

Rub it up and down for a good few minutes and it should soften up eventually

Servisol spray; you don’t want to be adding any kind of lubricant at all really, just cleaning the crap out of the fader. That’s what Servisol does… if you absolutely can’t wait, a little dab of lighter fluid works as a mild solvent, although I’d make sure you dry it out well before plugging it in lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I always take faders completely apart and clean boards and lubricate where necessary…i’m sure it’s just dust build-up or someone spilled a drink in it

With anything stiff the best thing to do is to get a tight grip around it then move up and down, slow at first then be more vigorous as it starts to ease itself. Then there should come a moment where it suddenly goes all floppy and after a few minutes it will be good to go again.

Do this.

Try to get some caig deoxit fader lube. DO NOT USE WD40.

Thanks for the tips. I saw that guide video, but since the tempo faders are soldered onto the main board I don’t think the submersion in alcohol will be possible.

I’ll probably pick up a can of Servisol in the morning and try that 1st as Deoxit is way too expensive over here.
