Bought used vci-100 again!

As i needed a good backup controller i bought a used vci-100 and after getting the unit this morning its not it good looking condition, it works well but its a bit batterd and deffo needs a overlay but the main problem is the bottom of it was a bit bent, and after i updated firmware to 1,3 it took ages to put the lid back on and only some chasis bending got it back, seems like last owner must have dropped it or whatever.

Apart from that it was £180 well spent and i wil use it this sat as its a mostly house gig and i can see if the sound is better than the vci-300 which i feel it will be!

One other thing, how do i get the knobs off the 100?are they glued on and will i need pliers to get em off?they are worn and i will replace em.

That’s a smokin deal even with the chassis damage.

I was just able to pull my knobs off with my hands, but I’ve heard of others having trouble. You can gently pry them up with a small screwdriver.

firm grip and tug

Man I am a big lad and I cant get em off, my other vci is was easy..these feckers seemed glued on!!

I will post up some pics of the bent chasis…gutted its bent but it works and i have gridded loads of my new tunes, yes i can actually mix but its good to grid…

Maybe they are. Ask the po.

my vci is bent in the corner too lol  not easy to get the faceplate back on - theres a nack to it :stuck_out_tongue:

Mine certainly looks quite thrashed :stuck_out_tongue: But still works as good as the day i got it, yay for awesome build quality !

Once somoen talked about using dental floss to get them out. I guess you need to put it just beneath them or something.

That was me :stuck_out_tongue: also i think you got the wrong thread

only if you’ve got a better soundcard

The point being I wont be using the vci-300’s soundcard!:slight_smile:I will use the connectiv as I have many times before and it’s never let me down.

i pry the knobs off with a flathead screwdriver
