I think Brad took more photos than me.

DJTT member HappyDan playing at the Reloop Stage.
He did a really good set. I gave him a Midi Fighter sticker for his laptop.
Thanx Karlos ![]()
Mix Architekt with the DB4
“Ooh Neon Yellow Timecode”… yeah and its mine so get your own Shiftee..!
Orange Timecode and the S4 (not used together).
VCI 100 mk2.
VCI 300 mk2… Chariots Of Fire jog wheels are naff looking. Are they meant to be like this..?
Kontrol S4.
Beat Hook !!! A present from Gizmo, it was his last one… i feel honoured.
The Bodge.
More later.
I went to BPM today (sunday) for a cheeky mooch around and whilst I didnt take any pics of the stunners walking around or the gear, here are my thoughts.
the new VCI 100 Mk2 feels and looks cheap. Really crappy faders but the layout works pretty well.
The new DB4 is so bloody complicated I couldnt figure out how to play anything with it. But it looks and feels like a quality piece of hardware.
The new denon 4 deck controller integrates nicely with traktor and its really easy to get to grips with. Its good and heavy, feels like it could take a beating apart from the faders that are REALLY cheap aluminium. They bend with the smallest effort, really its a shame because if it wasnt for this it’d have taken the show.
Numark and hercules are crap, all their controllers on display were cheap plastic that felt like they were going to break.
Reloop rocks. Quality hardware i’d recommend to anyone. Their new controller wasnt up for demo, just for show, but theyre still using the cheap buttons from the old one ![]()
Then theres the S4. Yes, its all you’d want it to be, as is the new software and the jogs really are nice too. Its rather large though.
Even so it takes the biscuit as the best controller on display there.
The rep also told me to expect an update to traktor pro in december when they’ll add the sampler, etc. My guess is the S4 should get timecode support around then too.
Aside from that there was a guy with an ipod on each arm demoing air dj. He was controlling some software through arm gestures. It was really quite intuitive apart from the fact that you had to raise your hand everytime to manually reset the effect/eq/whatever on the ipod itself, which kinda ruined the whole thing for me.
One last thing, none of the controllers on display had push to kill rotaries for the eq’s. Why the hell is this? Its so much more intuitive than flaring your elbows. A missed opportunity imo.
what controller is pic #2?
doesn’t look familiar
denon rack mount cdj, nothing exciting
I guess logos on the jogs it is… oh well, I’m still in!
I’m actually liking the size of the S4… it makes for comfortable mixing IMO, and still hella more portable than lugging two road cases with decks, all in all a fair compromise.
I missed BPM, i’m on an Ibiza come down.
Last year was a laugh though, kinda wishin I could make it this time. Just to have a go of the S4 really, nothin else tickles me fancy at the mo.
However, I really would like some 1210’s just to buy some funky coloured time code vinyl.
I agree… I wish they had put them on the S4. I dont think they would trigger that easily by mistake.
Aww shucks. Hope it was OK. The guy minding the stage was a dick. And the manager of the guy before me kept shouting at me for setting up my stuff because I was getting in frame of their pictures!
We should do a DJTT night somewhere like the MIDIfighter one in Germany maybe.
My friend fell in love with the Pioneer gear. I had a rant at the poor man on the A&H stand about moving away from their analogue roots.
Amsterdam would be nice and centralized ![]()
