here is the layout…
I think you’re gonna need at least 3 game pads to make that design.
Love the case by the way..
actually i will only need two gamepads.
my gamepads have 18 buttons + 4 analogue each, so i will have 36 buttons + 8 analog.
more than enought
In your picture it looks like you’ve got 8 pots and 2 faders to me?
That would equal 10 analog hence 3 game pads?
yes and no…
hehehhe
there are 8 knobs, 6 knobs for the gamepad and 2 to controll volume of headphones and line in, this knobs will be independent
Whats the sound board you’re using?
This is becoming more and more interesting per new post!
just a cheap usb sound board, only with a line in and a line out.
the way i’m doing it every single componet can be upgraded in the future
the gamepads can be upgraded to a ardiuno or similar, the sound board can be upgraded to have more inputs, etc. etc.
the interior connections are all usb, and there are extra usb slots to connect more exterior modules
Good stuff there. If I can help again I will, but I’m not an electronics expert, I just enjoy tearing things to bits.
looking forwards to seeing this all finished up!
will look sweet in the wooden case,
how are you planning to mount all the components internally?
and as far as im aware youd just need another analogue input for the IR sensor?
though, having seen people attempt similar in the past, can be fairly unstable in a club environment
hi,
there will be a acrilic top, with all of the componetes divided in acrilic boxes (some old acrilic photo archives that i have laying arround)
i’m begining to think that the ir sensor is probably too dificult to build…
maybe if i find ir sensor kit that is just to solder and plug…
i’m not planing to use this controller in clubs… i’m more in to experimental music and improvised performances
next problem…
hi,
i finally found a acrylic shop, i seams that all of the acrylic shops (6) i knew are now closed…
but i finally found one open, the top will be ready next week ![]()
at this point i have all of the soldering of one pad ready and tested
but i have a problem, i don’t know how to connect the fades… i’ve tried all possible combinations and none worked…
is it possible that its burned?
do you have any idea how to connect it?
thanks
Have you connected the slider to the joypad or tested it with a meter. Sometimes the analogue switch on the joypad needs to be pressed before you can get any data out of it in your software.
hi archie, i’ve tested it with the joypad, and the analog switch is on, it works with a knob, but i didn’t manage to make it work with the slide.
also, this slide have 6 contacts, and i have no clue what is what…
i think i figure it out…
those slides are stereo…
is it definitely a linear fader?
I have the same problem with mine. like no matter which way the pot is it carries current.
that’s why I was asking if it’s linear… if it’s a stereo fader then it might be log (for audio use only)… where did you get the fader from?
my fault…
it seams that it’s for audio use…
i got it from a local buy yourself electronics store, this time i asked for help…
lets see how it works…
in adition to my project, i’ve also got a light sensor resistor, hope it works well…
next thing in my mind is to get a a endless rotary… how could i connect it?
