Building a gaming pc

So like the title says i’m going to build a gaming pc. I have never built a gaming pc before and i am looking for tips on graphics cards, processors and all that other stuff. I want the pc to be able to play games in the highest settings such as Battlefield 3, grand theft auto V (when it’s released), crysis, fifa and indie games. the amount I’m looking to spend is $1,500

mind if i take this one to a gaming/PC forum i’m on? they always come up with the best setups for the money.

just some quick questions:

  • do you still need peripherals (mouse/keyboard)?
  • any extras like lets say a blu-ray player or just plain old DVD?

note that is in AUD and prices are usually lower in the US so you might still have some headroom.

provides you with:

  • capable processor
  • one of the fastest video cards
  • SSD for the OS
  • good storage for gaming (i’m using a caviar blue for my games as well)
  • loads of ram

at the core a very similar system but sacrifices the SSD and half the ram for a bigger harddrive, a better cooler and a faster video card.

Thanks man for that build all the parts seem really good and powerful from the reviews I have been reading on them . Feel free to take this onto that gaming forum and I do need perhipials like a mouse and keyboard (I’ve only had MacBook pros for the last few years). I don’t need a blu ray drive plain DVD will do :smiley:

so that’s what i came up with. i wasn’t able to include a mouse & keyboard thought since the budget really get tight at the end. chipped in an EVGA card since they have the best customer service around. kind of a combination of the two previous ones to keep the price down.
