Buying my first vinyl turntables!

Buying my first vinyl turntables!

Got a few posts up but need some advice, looking to get my first set of turntables,

Does anybody know if these Numarks are any good?

They are only £115 for the pair which i thinks a good deal. I am going to be using these with my traktor DVS SYSTEM

Many thanks !

I wouldn’t want these.

These are belt drive tables - for DJing and especially scratching, you probably want direct drive, like the SL1200 or its many imitators.

Go for new Stanton St150’s or a set of second hand Technics sl1200/1210 mk2/5’s. Make sure you do your homework on what to look out for when buying second hand sets though.

You will regret buying those decks. Save more and get direct drive TT’s.

I’m (finally) getting my Reloop RP-7000s in a couple of weeks - put the order in at the weekend. They’re pricey but read lots of good reviews about them (well, mostly reviews of the 8000s, but the 7000s are very similar but without all the cue buttons/midi etc)

As others said, It’d be better to go with SuperOEM or SL1200’s deck. I’m a happy owner of 2 Reloop RP-7000 and they worth every penny. Buying cheap is buying twice.

i wouldn’t wish those TTs on anyone

If its not on the list below then just save your money (In my opinion of course)

Vestex - PDX 1000/2000/3000

Reloop - RP 6000/7000/8000

Stanton - STR8 or ST 150/ STR8 100/ T120/T92/T62

Audio Technica LP120/LP1240

Gemini - PT 1000/2000/2100/2400

Synq XTRM1

American Audio HTD4.5

KAM DDX 5000

I don’t need to comment here.

You’ve got some great advice above.

I got Vestax PDXs (3000MKII) as my first tt. Yes they are made out of plastic but there great and don’t feel any where near cheap!

no way, don’t get those.

get direct drive turntables, used technics 1200,1210.

Most on the list are good. Do what is in your price range. Techinics are very high quality but a tad pricey.

Fantastic thanks for the reply guys, im going to be using them with Traktor as a dvs system. Do all turntables connect up to Traktor or is there some i have to worry about?? Thanks MACCO

They’ll connect fine. You just need the Traktor Scratch Pro software and DVS vinyls.

they all connect the same, but remember get a direct drive technics (try get some used ones on craigslist or ebay), stanton 150, numark ttx

also you can even mix with one turntable using traktor or serato.
