Can I map ‘Thru’ mode for vinyl on to X1? (or another controller)

In Traktor Scratch, the deck needs to be set to ‘Thru’ to play ‘real’ vinyl, right?
Can this function be mapped to a controller so it doesn’t entail fiddling with the laptop?
I saw a forum post from an NI bod that I thought said this was not possible, but I’m not sure why that would be.

“Deck Common>Deck Flavor Selector” will allow you to toggle between Live Input (THRU) and Track Deck. It can be mapped to any controller or even a keyboard shortcut.
