Can you Scratch MP3 on S4?

I’m new to the Traktor/S4 and wondered if it was possible to Scratch an MP3 like you can scratch on vinyl and cds?
If so, how? and do I have to re-program the S4?

yes you can. the default mapping should load itself when you plug in the s4 for the first time.

Thanks for the quick reply.

When the deck is playing it increases\decreases the tempo. It only scratches when the deck isn’t playing.
I would like to scratch whilst a track is playing.

Are you pressing down on the top plate? You should feel a slight click when you press.

No I havn’t pressed down, I thought that was just away of holding the track in pause mode.
When I get home i’ll give it a go

Yep, that’s correct, in fact, think of it as the same method of holding a track using vinyl, you press down and move back and forth, same for the S4 (apart from the S4 platter doesn’t rotate when you let go of course :wink: )
