Can’t Re-Install Free Traktor 2 On New Macbook?

Hey guys,

So I popped in my S4 CD into my macbook and it installed it perfectly. However, on my old imac I had the free Traktor 2 download and I’d much rather go back to that.. However, when I go on Native Instruments’ website and I put in my old voucher, it won’t let me download it.

Does this mean I’m stuck with the old Traktor?

You can’t download it again, I think. You should have kept the installer–like they told you to–when you downloaded it. Deauthorize the old computer, authorize the new one.

If you lost the installer, contact NI service and tell them you don’t back up your files and delete things you shouldn’t.

Disclaimer: I don’t own an S4 and haven’t done exactly that…I’m basing this advice off of what they said when I bought Transistor Punch for my Maschine.

How do I deauthorize the old computer? And whats the .dmg file called? I’ll do a quick search on my computer, hopefully I’ll find it.

You should be able to get your serial number from the Service Center. Download the demo and enter in the T2 serial number.

That’s still no excuse. I think maybe you should have waited a little longer before hitting submit this time and taken that small fact into consideration.

To de-authorize a computer you uninstall Traktor and run service center.

I just tried this to confirm it and it worked. I opened Service Center on my MBP and went to overview and selected traktor 2. Then I took a picture of the details which included the serial number for the version installed on that computer. Next I downloaded the T2 demo on the NI web site onto my iMac.

After I installed it I opened Traktor and selected activate on the next pop up. It opened Service Center where I had to log in and then I entered in the serial number i had gotten off the MBP’s service center.

Okay, but did you have to uninstall T2 from your MBP in order for the serial to work?

So, I popped in my Traktor S4 CD into my brand new Macbook.. and all I get is the old S4. I de-activated both serial numbers, did numerous reinstallations and the problem STILL persists.

I just want to be able to run Traktor 2 on my new macbook. How can this be accomplished? By the way, I don’t have my old .dmg from when I got the email. Even when I download the demo, it’s the Old Traktor Pro … Not the new one.

try downloading the actual TP2 demo then upgrading through the demo. i just got my S4 and had to go about it that way. Thats what NI instructed me to do. try it

You get up to two consecutive installs. This means it can be installed on two machines at the same time as long as you’re not using them at the same time. Run Service Center (located in the Native instruments folder in applications) on the computer that has T2 on it. From there you’ll be able to get your T@ serial number. After that install the T2 demo that I linked to above and enter your T2 serial number that you got from the other computer and the demo will turn into the full version.

just found this.. after googling, anyway my problem is i had traktor 2 and traktor s4 on my macbook hard drive. then got it swapped out for a new one, some how manged to reinstall. Now if i want to buy a windows computer is there a way to deauthorize one or if not both of them so i have the two installs? i dont really mind.

Didn’t I just answer this? uninstall and run service center.

Yeah you did, I posted in this after i made my thread. :disappointed: My bad

Anyway did as you said. Installed demo on windows. Uninstalled on my mac everything is working 100% after installing new S4 drivers
