You won’t regret it.
You gotta get used to the EQ curves on the Denon (bit steeper than I’m used to, about 8 or 9 o’ clock is pretty much off, but it’s a solid mixer, especially for the price.

Ya tell me about it lol, I am envious everytime I play a show with someone using CDJ’s, cause I still have a Numark controller. + when I start playing bigger shows/local festivals, some might have their own setups, but I really need to get some CDJ’s for that.
Yeah but when you play out like that you usually aren’t bringing your gear to setup unless you put on some unique kind of show.
Yes, true, true, they usually have their own setups, even at local clubs, but even guys like Zedd and Porter Robinson, still use their S4’s, but hooked into the festivals Mixer. I guess since they are more comfortable with their Traktor Controllers. I think when I start getting more shows locally, I think they will have their own setups, idk, I would have to see… But I do play like house parties, and anime conventions, so I for sure need to bring my own gear for that.
For now! It’s only a matter of time until POrter and Zedd start using CDJs.
IIRC, Zedd posted a picture of some CDJ/DJMs that Pioneer sent him maybe a year ago.
Can’t imagine why Pioneer DJ would interview Zedd if he wasn’t using CDJs or DJMs already.
Ya, cause I think even Madeon has used CDJ’s before, even though, I think he still rocks those dual launches pads, like a pro ^^ I used to not like CDJ’s, and being the strong controller-ist, that I am, I have recently, grown more fawned of them. I have only used them a few times, like messing around with my friends, back stage at show, but I think it’s due time to get used to a pair, cause it’s not the fact that, (Oh I couldn’t use them), it would just feel uncomfortable, playing at a club, never using a pair before. To me it’s kind of like using my friends S4, even though I have used an S4 before, I just don’t want to mess up live, cause his mapping are different. Also there is just something about that professional feel, that CDJ’s have.
Maybe for now I’ll just 2 channel tape deck… loool, run my music through tape, that would be funny… I wonder if that would even be possible… and have like an option to spin back the tape, with a jog wheel… (Excuse me for just waking up.) ^^
To try and persuade him into using their products, so he does, and they look better as a company. It’s all about marketing. When 99% of DJ’s use Pioneer at big shows, excluding the few that use Allen & Heath, it makes others say “Oh I need to buy this, cause Zedd is using it.”
I am not hating on NI, saying that the S2/S4, or the Z2 isn’t worth the money, but coming from a controller user, I would rather have CDJ’s than shell out $500 - $1K + on an S2/S4 or Z2…
I was never into CDJ’s cause of the whole burning to CD thing, but since a lot of CDJ’s have USB in, I’ll use that. It would suck for your CD’s to break on the way to a show, or have one get scratched gulp @__@
I also wonder if the CMP 800’s have USB 3.0, and if that would make any difference with USB transfer speeds… I doubt it would… You could prob use USB 1.0, and it would still run as fast…
it would suck for your USB stick to break or get lost aswell
LOL yes, that would suck… but I just find it more convenient to have music on a USB, than to keep burning CD’s, just my opinion… I don’t know how others feel, I just like the USB option better.
Bring 3 thumbsticks and a CD Book ![]()
I think the term “Over prepared” works well for CDJ users ![]()
Be green. Use USBs. ![]()
ECO friendly DJing… I hope they don’t add this to CDJ’s as some really bad marketing term now ![]()
Be green, bun sensi
