I played my first gig (ever!) last night at what is a weekly spot at a local establishment - it went really well, thankfully, and I’m even more excited now. My biggest realizations were that I may need a monitor to better hear my ‘moves’ and transitions, and also, that I was struggling to see the mixer as much as I’d wished.
Are there any product recommendations regarding a small and possibly clip on light to connect to the S4 to help visually?
your local electronics store should have loads of different types of small clip/search lights. A lot of booths usually have a light in them, those kinda snake neck lights.
Turning up the off state led brightness helps to. I have mine set to 5 which is the lowest setting that turns the LED’s on while buttons aren’t being used. Still a little led light is nice for teh knobs and such.
Yeah, I have the same but can’t see the knobs at all when mixing in the dark. I have to leave the light on in my bedroom makes it so much harder to pretend I’m rocking out a club
I’ve customized the ‘off-set’ LED settings but like the previous poster had trouble seeing the knobs. The place where I’m DJ’ing doesn’t have a booth, and it becomes a makeshift area though it’s above the dance floor.
I’ll look for the snakelight LED this weekend - thanks for the feedback.
