Welp, the time has come for me to invest in a backup for my backup..
I’m currently looking at some Western Digital clouds and I’m curious if these are any good/reliable? I like the idea of wireless compared to a hard wire, but I’ve never had a cloud so I’m not sure if they’re buggy or what…
Anyone have a cloud of any kind? Would you recommend it over a wired HD? Any input is appreciated!
Im still wary over wireless technology. The intelligent side of me tells me there will be no issue sneding the data wirelessly, but the nostalgic side of me tells me not to trust the new technology.
My stuff is on my gigging laptop and replicated on my big desktop rig and on an external HDD. Can’t be arsed with Cloud, plus I don’t trust it either. I tend not to do wireless anything, not even internet if I can help it.
You should look into cloud soultions for long term storage. I use Amazons Glacier. Its a little difficult to setup and uploading gigs of music takes days if not weeks on slower collections however I have every piece of music Ive ever downloaded safe in the cloud and I Pay like 3 dollars a month for the storage space.
That’s one thing I read when comparing the two… Slow upload speeds. That was basically the reason I went wired. I have a phobia when it comes to cables.. I feel like plugging/unplugging just ruins the products so I try to do it as little as possible.
