connecting decks to a pc

Hi , I just bought a pair of t60’s and a gemini PMX05 mixer to start me of on a more advanced DJ’ng path and was wondering how do I connect it to my pc ?

I know you need a phono to stereo 3.5 mm jack plug , but because they have not came through the door yet I don’t know what one to order for this specific setup , if anyone could link me to exactly what cable I have to buy for this specific mixer that would be great.

also would there be anything else that I need to know in order to have my sound going through stereo mix so I can record and play live sets that would be great too , yeah cringe at my lack of know how! hahah

thanks in advance anyone that can help me.

Welcome to DJTT
As i understand it, you do not have a soundcard right? if so then you may hook your PC up to the mixer as is, but it would be useless as you would only have one channel.
When i first started, i used a tower pc and could hook it up to 2 channels on our mixer because it had a 5.1 soundcard, not ideal but we made it work .
In your case, i would suggest adding an NI Audio2 to the mix, cheap, sounds awesome and you will be away and running straight away.

thanks

Hi man , and yeah thanks haha

and yeah I don’t know if my pc may support it laready I’m unsure , I have a really powerful gaming pc . but the motherboard has somekind of sound interface on it.

can you have a look at this and tell me if I still need that usb thing or not.
its a Z97X gaming 3 motherboard and inside it , it has a realtek ALC1150 115dB SNR HD with a built in rear audio amplifier, it has a dedicated audio hardware zone with audio noise guard , but as I said im unsure if that will mean anything.

I don’t mind getting that thing though if needs be.

all I really want to do is record a session on the decks and stream it to some of my other mates through sterio mix so I can get feedback on my progression as I get better.

thanks again !

Your mixer only has one set of outputs. They’re RCAs. If you want to hook this mixer up to your stereo and your PC, you’re going to need a pair of RCA splitters and an RCA->3.5mm converter cable. You’ll hook one set of RCAs to your stereo, and the other to the adapter cable, and then into the mic/line-in of your PC’s soundcard.

Hmm, have a look at the back. If it has multiple 3.5mm outputs (the green ones) you should be able to hook up two channels on the mixer. you would need 2 pairs of these.
