Controller Collaboration Thread

Controller Collaboration Thread

Hey, in light of what Mil0 is proposing in his own thread, I thought I’d throw up a thread with a template for controller collaborations.

Please post your area of expertise, so that others may look here to start up a project.

I can:
Make 3D models ready for productions and machining
Layout and draw PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards) ready for milling for any milling machines
Solder and assemble boards
Possibly get milling and woodworking done
Map controllers in Traktor Pro
I have good knowledge of digital and midi communication

I am based in
Denmark, Scandinavia

Follow this template, and post your area of expertise as well as general location

Have fun, and make great stuff

My skills are a little bit limited but,

I can:
Design photoshop mockups based on forum suggestions
Advanced Traktor mapping
Knowledge of Autohotkey scripting software for advanced mappings and other unique customisations that are otherwise not possible (Windows only - eg: VU meters, USB displays, macro scripts, etc)
A reasonable budget put aside for DIY controllers

I am based in:
Brighton, UK (currently)

I think there are going to be three problem areas for this project. One is that we all have to agree on a broadly similar design (customisations are possible, but nothing too extreme otherwise it’ll slow the ‘production line’ down). 2nd, budget/money issues. This project is going to be expensive - each person on the production line will need to be able to cover any costs related to the aspect of the controller they’re making/designing. For example, if one person is doing the soldering, they may need to have enough budget to cover the cost of buying enough components to make ALL the controllers, unless each person can agree to pay upfront? In which case, who will take care of the money?

Finally, the 3rd problem I can see is making sure that each person is committed to completing their respective job on the project. I guess if anyone can’t complete the work, they could ship what they’ve done so far to someone else who could complete the work for them though?

just some thoughts…

I can:
Make 3D models ready for productions and machining
Soldering skills (basic)
Map controllers in Traktor Pro (really fancy stuff by now)
I have good knowledge of digital and midi communication (glovepie etc)

I am based in:
Munich, Germany

I am

  1. pro in soldering
    2.wrecking things
    3.good at DIY .

I Can:

Soldering (like the tech junkie that i am)
Traktor Mapping Skills
Fast gaining Arduino skills (currently working on trying to convert the arduino unos primary ATmega chip to actually output midi so its recognized as a class compliant device - but still gonna take a little while)
JunXion (should it be needed)
processing (but with a way to go)
making and breaking stuffs
graphics (photoshop, AE etc)

I Am:

London, UK

Not to de-rail the thread, but I’ve been looking at that too.
I think, currently, the easiest way to do this is to hook up another USB port to some pins on the Arduino, and then do some hax.
The other way around, as I see it, would be replacing the Arduino firmware.

or purchase the latest Arduino Mega, which supports USB repurposing?

I can do and am quite good at:
Writing C and C++.
Woodworking.
Soldering.
Basic knowledge of midibox.
Anything related to posting stuff.
Linux.Ubuntu.
I am based in Estonia, Scandinavia.
I allso have a dad who can write Pascal and C.

I Can:
Design Websites (HTML/CSS/Javascript/a bit of PHP/etc.)

Based in:
Dallas, TX (U.S.)

I’m somewhat talented at DiY, C++, Custom computers, mappings, and so forth; although I’m not that confident in my skill in these areas. O.o

I know Web Design isn’t useful when it comes to controllers… But if you want to start up a blog I can always pitch in I guess ^.^

I’m an electrician. Wiring and building enclosures would be my forte.

I am skilled in many things but…

I can:
Design graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator
I am based in:
Glasgow, UK (currently)

Very new to DIY Midi but I have a good resource for plasma cutting, welding, etc, for metal enclosure production. Also very eager to learn as much as possible about electronics, MIDI, and all the above.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Usa.

I can:
Basic Photoshop’ing
Basic Traktor mapping
Eat a lot
DJ freakin’ awesome
Binge drink
I have a lot of contacts among DJs and venue owners for Q&A’s, testing etc.

I am based in
Denmark, Scandinavia

Yeah ROCK!

I am 2 semesters away from Graduating with a International Buisness and Global Studies Degree.

I can use CAD and have access for blueprints.
Mechanical design and logic
Certified machinist, CNC qualified
Exceptional negotiation skills.

I am looking for 2 people who can do iOS application development and pcb design/prototyping. If you can do both, definitely get in touch!

Got a possible semi-commercial project brewing and would like to get some partner(s) with the skills above involved…
