Copyright Question

I know use of the soundpacks is encouraged for dj-ing and mixes and such, but I was wondering what the rules were in regards to using sounds from the packs (I’m looking to use a couple from the Mac Zad pack) in productions that will be commercially released? Do I need to license them somehow or are they royalty free?
I’m pretty sure the samples are royalty free, but I figured it’d be safe to double check before I released anything.

anything with vocals in them are NOT r-free
youll need to find out where each of the samples came from

dude , even the harlem shake is having its deals with copy write infringement.

So as far as the rest of the sounds are they up for grabs? I may be attempting to use some simple beats in a app I am creating.

Just make sure if you are going to make loops out of it, they werent loops to begin with
Id say, take the samples, and arrange them into your own loops

So a kick/snare/… are free to use? Only with vocals inside are not?

you cant prove where a kick snare came from
if you want to ensure you arent going against the copy-write grain, just dont use other peoples material and sell it as your own

dont forget
you can always contact the producer of the track and simply ASK them if you can use some all or parts of the tracks

Yes of course, I was just wondering about kick/snare and some synth loop that I modified already, therefore it’s not really “from someone else”.

P.S. Like when you produce a song on Ableton, like do you do every single sound? I mean I can understand if it’s a voice sample/clip/something, but if it is an instrument?

no in your case you should be fine because its just an instrument or rather a digital recreated sound

Anything you make with the soundpack sounds is considered a remix since its a part of an original tune i made. That includes instruments.

If you use my soundpacks you must credit the creator and you cannot sell anything with it or redistribute

Not royalty free, if you use them then it falls into the category of a mix because they are from my original songs
