Creating a Visual Midi Mapping Editor

Creating a Visual Midi Mapping Editor

I’m thinking of making a Graphical MIDI Mapping Editor (GMME) for Traktor, kind of like the Controller Editor that Native Instruments created. The only downside of that one is that it only features a limited set of controllers…

So I want to make a flexible editor, so you can create your own layout of buttons and knobs etc. ( create something that looks like the layout of your controller), and then assign midi messages and traktor commands to them.

Features:

  • Graphical Layout Editor (Featuring Knobs, Faders, Jogwheels, Buttons etc…).
  • Assign MIDI Messages to these objects.
  • Assign Traktor commands to the objects.
  • Import/Export a .tsi file containing the MIDI Mapping.
  • Save your templates.

Is there any need for such an application, and if so what features would you like to see in it?

Thx,
DMD

+1 sweet idea

there was an editor before made by the traktor bible guy

but it doesnt work on the new version of traktor has some sort of coding?

make it skinable maybe, so it looks like different controllers?

Make it for the reloop digital jockey 2

I’m a bit new to mapping the controller and the Traktor window is very small.

for a PC

Hows it going?

I’ve looked at those but the problem sometimes is that is all in text, and I would like to see the controller layout when assigning the functions.

I haven’t started on the development yet, will start in 4 weeks (have to finish school tests/exams first :stuck_out_tongue:). I’ll keep you updated and will ask for people to test it out during an alpha/beta phase.

thx for the comment!

+1 great idea, i would totally want something like that.
