Cue Button Problem on VCI-100 - Please assist

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Cue button on the right-side deck of my VCI-100SE.

I noticed that I now have to press firmly to get a response from it. It no longer responds to light tapping.

Could it be some type of loose wiring or connection? Any suggestions would help me out tremendously!

Thanks and I hope you guys can help me out!

What version of the vci 100 you got and are you using the djtt tsi? i have the normal black vci and using the tsi i have the same problem an i just turn the juggle off an back on again and it seems to right the problem its cause i don’t have the new firm ware installed to have the vci working on its optimal settings. hope this helps.

Hi Herbstrike,

Thanks for your input. I got my VCI from DJTT so I’m running all the latest software, firmware, tsi.

It’s only recently that I encountered this problem so I don’t think it could be related to firmware as you suggested.

Appreciate your thoughts though. Thanks!

Maybe the button got off center or something? Try taking the top off, which also involves taking the bottom of, and see if that fixes it.

Is it an arcade button or the regular VCI-100 buttons?

Hi Flashflooder,

It’s the regular VCI-100SE

Hi, thanks for the input. Will try out your suggestion since I’ve also been planning to replace my overlay that’s been peeling since I purchased my controller. Might as well try to fix the button at the same time. Hope it works!

If you have more “detailed” instructions or tips, please let me know.

The firmware upgrade post has a video that shows you how to take the VCI apart.

Frankly I would be surprised if this was it, but once when i was putting my VCI back together one of the rubber buttons got pinched and it acted like what you describe. I’m not sure how this would happen if you hadn’t taken it apart.
