Describing the basic effects that form Pio colorFX, TP3 mixerFX and TP2 macroFX
One of the best features of Pioneer mixers, TP3 and TP2.6 are the single-knob sound color FX / mixerFX / macroFX.
I would like to memorize them better by finding their base effects (delay, echo, filter, reverb, flanger, beatmasher, bitcrush, white noise).
All comments are welcome, and I will keep the list updated.
To test: loop a simple beat and characterize what you hear based on basic FX concepts.
to test delay/echo/reverb presence, stop the track to hear the FX tail.
TP3 MIXERFX:
The brand new version of Traktor Pro 3 has just launched to the world, available for updating now. In this

As an EDM DJ in the digital age, Traktor has always been my go-to software for its ease of use and abundance of features, most notably rock-solid effects.

Normal effects:
Below, definitions from the basic effects, and the pioneer suite of NX2 effects as described in their manual.
Basic FX:
Audio effects alter the sound of a musical instrument or other audio source. Common effects include distortion, often used with electric guitar in electric blues and rock music; dynamic effects such as volume pedals and compressors, which affect loudness; filters such as wah-wah pedals and graphic equalizers, which modify frequency ranges; modulation effects, such as chorus, flangers and phasers; pitch effects such as pitch shifters; and time effects, such as reverb and delay, which create echoin...
delay = repeat sound once after X beats (can be fractional)
echo = repeat sound multiple times, with decreasing intensity
reverb = repeat sound multiple times heavyly very soon
flanger = a single delay with very short duration (short phase)
filter = lower/cut or raise specific frequencies
overdrive = clipping to increase loudnes
pitch = changing tone with same tempo
resonators = emphasize harmonic frequency content on specified frequencies.
modulation = change frequency in relation to a signal
compression = reduction of dynamic range
gate = ON/OFF synced to BPM
