Who has seen the results? Those asides I have to question their “Gripes”, they seem to be rather poorly thought out.

ie

“Beat juggling cannot be Midi triggered, can be taxing on the CPU, and dull and indistinctive colour scheme.”

Sure judgement of the color scheme is purely subjective - but the comments about beat juggling and CPU = WTF?

TBH did not expect much more from DJMAG given their top 100 DJ list…

^^ This. ^^

These are user voted awards. People are retarded. Just look at the top 40.

Well, the ‘beat juggling cannot be MIDI triggered’ is just factually incorrect isn’t it?

The CPU gripe might be more true compared to some of the competitors, although any laptop made within the last 3 years should be fine. And the colour scheme is quite subjective (although not the first time I’ve heard it).

What… I’d be very surprised if they’re unaware of this site, which is mainly based around midi triggered beat juggling…

BTW, these are still the last year awards. We’re still waiting for the 2010 edition …

True, although this was equally as inaccurate then

Shit! That was stupid of me - I thought they where supposed to be out this week so didnt even notice the 2009 icon…

Last year, this year, saying Traktor Pro has no loop control is a glaring mistake. Traktor had always had loop control.

Pillocks

I saw 2009 and was like what?

Yeah, this site while having a lot of information, is so full of crap that it’s not even funny.

It’s like taking someone and showing them all the boxes for the software, and allowing them to write reviews solely based on the box.

It bothers me.

sooooo … what do we know so far:
Best DVS: Traktor Scratch Pro
Best DJ Software: Traktor Pro
Best Compact Controller: X1
Best DJ Audio Interface: Audio 2DJ
Ultimate Club Mixer: Rane 68
Best Standalon Computer DJ Interface: Xone DX
Best DJ Cartridge: Ortofon|Serato S-120

so it’s 4NI vs 3Serato’s Partners

Who knows where the rest have gone and is not under NDA ?

Who actually uses anything other than the big 2, except those Virtual DJ users who are looking forward to having 99 decks… :stuck_out_tongue:

Interested more than anything.

Yeah i aint giving Serato the prize for Ortofons ace carts or A&H DX.
They maybe partners but the prizes are Ortofons and A&Hs not Serato.

Thats like giving Ableton the prize for the Akai APC.. nah.

Meow… cat scratch

btw-DJMAG also wrongly said that Traktor Pro had the NMX recording feature which was dropped in Traktor 3.

If anyone from DJMAG is reading you ought to be ashamed of such pathetic research.

yep I agree used to read that rag years ago they should be ashamed !!!

Yeah and BTW I voted for S4 (with the custom text field) for the DX category, but it’s against the rules - only products on sale as per August. And if S4 was on sale …

And if DB4 was on sale (not just semi-anounced) … and TSP ceritified than NI could have done 70% off to celabrate :stuck_out_tongue:

An interesting behavior of myself I realized while reading your post - just because serato’s newslater says “Serato Partners products” i just propagated the info. Damn this marketing - how that washes me brain …

DJ MAG TECH AWARDS
Serato had a great time at this year’s BPM Show in Birmingham, UK and we’re proud as punch after the 2010 DJ Mag Tech Awards, in which Serato partner products picked up a tidy handful of awards.
Congratulations to the winners; the Rane Sixty-Eight for Ultimate Club DJ MIxer, the Allen & Heath Xone:smiley:X for Stand Alone Computer DJ Interface and the Ortofon | Serato S-120 for DJ Cartridge.
